The role in 30 seconds

The short version

Our core goal is to drive as much positive impact on the world as humanly possible. We believe education is the clearest place to do that.

Education shapes both the lives people build and what they go on to create. It should be where students discover what they care about, develop the capabilities to pursue it and lay the foundations for productive and fulfilling lives.

Yet education is only a fraction of what it could be. Too many students spend thirteen years learning through obligation rather than curiosity, then leave without loving learning, discovering something they care deeply about or knowing what work or life they want to build. Their attention is increasingly captured by less fulfilling, short-term dopamine loops that AI may make far more powerful.

A fundamental improvement could therefore transform both the lives students go on to live and what they later create for everyone else. That makes rebuilding education one of the greatest opportunities for societal impact.

Despite that opportunity, education attracts only a tiny fraction of the talent and resources society directs towards fields like AI and quant. This creates an impact arbitrage. An exceptional person can often have a greater marginal impact in education than in a field where extraordinary talent and resources are already heavily concentrated.

Mission: Rebuild education so every student on Earth loves learning.

Vision: Every student leaves school curious, passionate and prepared to live a productive and fulfilling life.

We believe curiosity-led, mastery-based learning is how we get there: students build genuine understanding while increasingly pursuing the questions that interest them.

Other education companies have pursued similar missions, but none has come remotely close to achieving them globally. Previous EdTech could scale software and workflows, but not the intelligence required to understand every student individually. It made schools incrementally better, not fundamentally different.

AI changes that. Software can now provide individual tutoring and feedback for every student, return enormous amounts of time to teachers and materially transform a school. If that difference becomes large and visible enough, the product itself can create the urgency and pull previous EdTech lacked.

Education remains an extraordinarily difficult industry. To produce an outcome no EdTech has produced before, every function must be world-class. Our benchmark cannot be existing EdTech or the typical Australian startup. It has to match the standard of teams like Anthropic and SpaceX, perhaps even exceed it, because we are pursuing comparable scale in a harder industry.

Education has never had an organisation able to concentrate that calibre of talent and resources behind the problem. We want Edexia to become it. At global scale, that could mean building the first trillion-dollar education company. The number is not the goal. It is shorthand for the value created for students and teachers and the talent and resources we could keep reinvesting into making education better.

We pair that ambition with a pragmatic, value-first plan in which every step must create enough value to earn the next. Assessment is our first foundation: Edexia learns each teacher's standards, gives teachers hours back and gives students far more frequent, useful feedback. This foundation has been used across more than 30 schools, and we have raised approximately US$4.2M from experienced education and technology backers.

Founder-led school partnerships are now the bottleneck. We are hiring our first three Heads of Schools, one each to own NSW, Victoria and Queensland. Each will own the full partnership funnel for their state, turn the founder-led motion into a repeatable system and help build the most elite school-partnerships team humanly possible. The standards and systems they establish will become the environment every future hire inherits.

This is not a conventional Account Executive role or a nine-to-five. We are looking for someone who wants extraordinary impact and is willing to make an extraordinary commitment in pursuit of it. In return, you will have unusual ownership over your state, the partnership system, the team that follows you and the company Edexia becomes.

The version above covers the essential details about us and the role. Below is a much more in-depth version - more company manifesto than job description. Open About Edexia for the full reasoning behind our mission, vision, timing, plan and company, or About the Role for details on ownership, the candidate profile, commitment and compensation. It is very long, so please read it carefully and in full before your first interview.

As Blaise Pascal put it, “I have made this longer than usual because I have not had time to make it shorter.”
